Haryana’s road infrastructure is set to achieve a new milestone as Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate two major highway projects on August 17, 2025, aimed at significantly improving connectivity for Sonipat and Bahadurgarh.
Addressing a press conference here today, Chief Minister Saini said that the Prime Minister will inaugurate six road projects worth about ₹11,000 crore, two of which directly benefit Haryana.
These two projects, costing around ₹2,000 crore, are part of the Urban Extension Road-2 (UER-II) initiative. He noted that they will greatly reduce traffic congestion and connectivity challenges in the NCR.
The Chief Minister explained that these projects will serve as vital four-lane link roads connecting the Delhi–NCR region with Haryana’s key industrial clusters. He added that the enhanced road network will not only ensure smoother transportation but also open new opportunities for trade and employment.
He shared that under Package-4, a 29.6-km road built at a cost of ₹1,490 crore will provide direct connectivity to Sonipat while easing congestion on NH-44.
This road will also link the Bawana Industrial Area with NH-352A (Jind–Gohana Road), giving a strong boost to trade and industry. Under Package-5, a 7.3-km stretch costing ₹487 crore will connect Dichaon Kalan in Delhi directly with Bahadurgarh and the KMP Expressway, ensuring faster and more seamless access.
Highlighting the significance of these projects, Chief Minister Saini said they reflect the commitment of the double-engine government to building world-class infrastructure in the region.
He also expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for consistently approving major projects with a special focus on Haryana, noting the PM’s long-standing and special bond with the state.
