The stage is set for the fourth edition of SEMICON India-2025, the country’s biggest semiconductor and electronics event, jointly organized by the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and SEMI, the global semiconductor industry association.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the exhibition on 2 September at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, which will run until 4 September.

With the theme “Building the Next Semiconductor Powerhouse,” the event will feature participation from 33 nations, 50 plus global CXOs, 350 exhibitors, and 50 plus global speakers.

The exhibition will spotlight the rapid expansion of India’s semiconductor ecosystem, address emerging industry challenges, and foster collaboration across the global value chain in pursuit of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Launched in 2021 with an investment outlay of ₹76,000 crore, the SEMICON India Programme, implemented through ISM, seeks to bring together global industry leaders, policymakers, academia, and startups to drive investment, dialogue, and strategic partnerships.

So far, three editions of SEMICON India have been held, that is, in Bengaluru (2022), Gandhinagar (2023), and Greater Noida (2024).

In a statement, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) noted that semiconductors — the heart of modern technology — power essential systems in healthcare, transport, communication, defence, and space.

“As the world moves toward greater digitalization and automation, semiconductors have become integral to economic security and strategic independence. In just four years since the launch of the ISM in 2021, India has transformed its semiconductor journey from vision to reality,” the statement said.

A key highlight of SEMICON India-2025 is the unprecedented level of stakeholder participation. The event will showcase the first-ever Global Pavilions, Country Roundtables, Skilling Initiatives, and a Design Startup Pavilion.

Nearly 350 exhibitors representing the global semiconductor value chain, along with six country roundtables, four country pavilions, nine state delegations, and over 15,000 visitors, are expected to attend.
