Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Kavinder Gupta met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Saturday to apprise him of the overall situation in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
During the meeting, the Lt Governor briefed the Prime Minister on the ground realities, key challenges, and the aspirations of the people of Ladakh.
He highlighted the public’s expectations in areas such as development, connectivity, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities.
The Lt Governor also underscored Ladakh’s immense potential in the tourism sector, particularly in eco-tourism, adventure sports, and cultural heritage-based experiences.
Prime Minister Modi reiterated the Government of India’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable development in Ladakh and emphasized the importance of ensuring that the benefits of governance and welfare schemes reach even the remotest villages of the Union Territory.
Kavinder Gupta assured the Prime Minister that the UT Administration is fully aligned with this vision and is working diligently to deliver people-centric governance.
He also conveyed his resolve to accelerate ongoing developmental projects, enhance infrastructure, and promote local entrepreneurship to unlock Ladakh’s full potential.
