Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for a series of major infrastructure and public welfare projects during his visit to Jind on July 17, Haryana Assembly Deputy Speaker Krishan Middha said on Tuesday, adding that the initiatives, collectively worth thousands of crores of rupees, are aimed at strengthening the state’s transport, healthcare, rail connectivity and tourism sectors.

Addressing a press conference, Middha said the Prime Minister’s visit would mark one of the largest development drives in Haryana this year, with several flagship projects set to be launched across different sectors.

Among the key announcements, Modi is expected to flag off India’s first hydrogen-powered train, which Middha described as a significant milestone in promoting clean-energy transportation and advancing the modernisation of the Indian Railways.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the medical colleges at Bhiwani and Narnaul, a move expected to enhance healthcare facilities and expand opportunities for medical education in the region.

In the railway sector, Modi will dedicate the 5.84-km elevated railway track at Kurukshetra, constructed at an estimated cost of ₹350 crore. According to Middha, the project will help decongest traffic by eliminating railway crossing bottlenecks in the city.

The development package will further include the inauguration of the Ambala–Kala Amb Greenfield four-lane corridor, projects related to the Haryana section of the Delhi-Katra Expressway, and works on the Jind–Gohana National Highway (NH-352A), which are expected to improve regional connectivity and support economic development.

Middha said the Prime Minister would also lay the foundation stone of a modern Sikh Museum in Kurukshetra. The proposed museum will feature virtual galleries showcasing the lives and teachings of the ten Sikh Gurus, along with a digital library and a light-and-sound show to promote religious and heritage tourism.

He added that the Hisar-Barwala four-lane highway project and the Bikaner-Siwani-Sonipat road connectivity project would also be launched, with the projects expected to improve transportation infrastructure, attract investment and generate employment.

Highlighting preparations for the event, Middha said the public rally in Jind would be organised as an eco-friendly programme, with a focus on the use of public transport, fuel conservation and environmental sustainability. He said all administrative and organisational arrangements for the Prime Minister’s visit were in the final stages.

“The Central Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to the balanced and holistic development of Haryana. These projects will significantly strengthen road and rail infrastructure, expand healthcare services, improve connectivity and accelerate the state’s economic growth,” Middha added.
