PM Modi to launch major development initiatives in Chhattisgarh on Nov 1

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Chhattisgarh on Saturday, November 1 to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for a series of ambitious development projects aimed at boosting infrastructure, healthcare, energy, and industrial growth in the state, his office said in a release on Friday.

The day will begin with PM Modi interacting with 2,500 children successfully treated for congenital heart diseases during the ‘Gift of Life’ ceremony at Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar.
Following this, he will inaugurate “Shanti Shikhar,” a modern Brahma Kumaris centre dedicated to spiritual learning and meditation.

At 11:45 AM, the Prime Minister will unveil a statue of Bharat Ratna former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the new Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha building, a green building powered entirely by solar energy and equipped with rainwater harvesting. Modi will also inaugurate the new assembly building and address the gathering.

In the afternoon, Modi will visit the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial and Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum in Ramanathapuram, launching a museum portal and e-book titled “Aadi Shourya.” He will also unveil a horse-mounted statue of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh, honouring the bravery and patriotism of Chhattisgarh’s tribal communities.

The day’s events will continue with Modi participating in the Chhattisgarh Rajat Mahotsav, commemorating 25 years since the state’s formation. He will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for developmental projects worth over Rs 14,260 crore in sectors including roads, industry, healthcare, and energy.

To support rural livelihoods, Modi will launch 12 new Start-Up Village Entrepreneurship Programme blocks across nine districts and participate in the Griha Pravesh of 3.51 lakh completed houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin), releasing Rs 1,200 crore to 3 lakh beneficiaries.

Infrastructure development will be bolstered with Modi laying the foundation stone for a four-lane Greenfield Highway from Pathalgaon–Kunkuri to the Chhattisgarh–Jharkhand border, a Rs 3,150 crore project aimed at connecting key coal mines, industrial zones, and steel plants. He will also oversee the upgradation of NH-130D and NH-130C highways to enhance connectivity in tribal and interior regions.

In the energy sector, Modi will inaugurate the Inter-Regional Eastern-Western Grid Interconnection Project, adding 1,600 MW of power transfer capacity. He will dedicate and initiate energy projects totalling over Rs 3,750 crore, aimed at strengthening power infrastructure and reliability.

Under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme, Modi will inaugurate works worth about Rs 1,860 crore to improve rural and agricultural power supply, including the launch of nine new substations worth around Rs 480 crore benefiting over 15 lakh people.
Further advancing energy security, Modi will inaugurate HPCL’s state-of-the-art Petroleum Oil Depot in Raipur and dedicate the 489 km Nagpur–Jharsuguda Natural Gas Pipeline, connecting 11 districts to the national grid and supporting cleaner fuel use.

To boost industrial growth, Modi will lay foundation stones for two Smart Industrial Areas in Janjgir–Champa and Rajnandgaon districts, and for a Pharmaceutical Park in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, focused on drug and healthcare manufacturing.

Finally, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for five new Government Medical Colleges and a Government Ayurveda College in Chhattisgarh, aiming to expand access to healthcare and promote traditional medicine.

This comprehensive visit underscores the central government’s commitment to accelerating development, enhancing connectivity, empowering rural communities, and improving healthcare facilities in Chhattisgarh as part of its vision for a self-reliant and developed India.
