Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch two significant initiatives on Tuesday in poll-bound Bihar. He will launch the Bihar Rajya Jeevika Nidhi Saakh Sahkari Sangh Limited via video conferencing aiming to provide easy access to funds at affordable interest rates to community members associated with Jeevika. Additionally, he will also transfer Rs 105 crore into the institution’s bank account.
The Jeevika Nidhi is designed to reduce dependence on microfinance institutions charging high interest rates and ensure timely availability of larger loan amounts at lower interest rates. This initiative is expected to strengthen entrepreneurship development among rural women and accelerate the growth of community-led enterprises.
Around 20 lakh women from across the state will witness this event.
Earlier that day, Modi will also inaugurate ‘Semicon India – 2025’ at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi. The three-day conference will focus on advancing a robust, resilient, and sustainable semiconductor ecosystem in India, featuring sessions on the progress of the Semicon India Programme, semiconductor fab and advanced packaging projects, and investment opportunities.
The conference will attract over 20,750 attendees, including more than 2,500 delegates from over 48 countries, and will provide a platform for international cooperation and showcasing India’s semiconductor sector. This initiative aligns with Modi’s vision to position India as a hub for semiconductor design, manufacturing, and technology development.
