Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate Skyroot Aerospace’s state-of-the-art Infinity Campus at 11 AM on November 27, a government release said on Tuesday.
The facility, spread across 200,000 square feet, will enable the design, development, integration, and testing of multiple launch vehicles, with the capacity to build one orbital rocket every month.
During the event, PM Modi will also unveil Skyroot’s first orbital rocket, Vikram-I, capable of launching satellites into orbit. This marks a significant milestone for India’s private space sector, with Skyroot being the first Indian private company to launch a rocket to space with its sub-orbital rocket Vikram-S in November 2022.
Founded by IIT alumni and former ISRO scientists Pawan Chandana and Bharath Dhaka, Skyroot has emerged as India’s leading private space company. The company’s growth is attributed to the government’s transformative reforms, reinforcing India’s position as a confident and capable global space power.
