Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive here on Friday. He is expected to announce a development plan for the capital city of Kerala during the visit.

During the campaign for the Local body polls, the BJP had promised that the prime minister would visit the capital within 45 days of it coming to power in Thiruvananthapuram Corporation and announce massive development plans for the capital city. The most notable thing will be the prime minister releasing the blueprint of a developed Thiruvananthapuram which he will hand over to the city mayor. The goal is ‘Mission Kerala’ through the blueprint of the BJP-ruled Thiruvananthapuram Corporation.

The prime minister will flag off the Amrit Bharat Rail Service from Kerala on that day.

There are indications that the development plan to be announced by the prime minister includes new Central projects in the capital, the next phase of Smart City, a massive initiative for waste management, and a development corridor connecting Vizhinjam port.

The prime minister will flag off four new trains, including the Amrit Bharat service. This will be followed by the BJP’s public meeting at Putharikandam Maidan.
