Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Mumbai on Wednesday where he will address the Maritime Leaders’ Conclave and chair the Global Maritime CEO Forum at India Maritime Week (IMW) 2025, at the NESCO Exhibition Centre, Goregaon East.
The Prime Minister’s participation reflects his deep commitment to an ambitious, future-oriented maritime transformation, aligned with ‘Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047’, according to the statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
The Global Maritime CEO Forum, which is the flagship event of India Maritime Week 2025, will bring together CEOs of global maritime companies, major investors, policy-makers, innovators, and international partners to deliberate on the future of the global maritime ecosystem.
The CEO Forum will serve as a key platform for dialogue on sustainable maritime growth, resilient supply chains, green shipping, and inclusive blue economy strategies.
This long-term vision, built on four strategic pillars — port-led development, shipping and shipbuilding, seamless logistics, and maritime skill-building — aims to position India among the world’s leading maritime powers.
India Maritime Week 2025 serves as the Government of India’s premier global platform to translate this vision into action, bringing together leading stakeholders across shipping, ports, shipbuilding, cruise tourism, and blue economy finance.
IMW 2025 will showcase India’s strategic roadmap to emerge as a global maritime hub and a leader in the ‘Blue Economy’. The five-day event that commenced on October 27 is expected to draw participation from over 85 countries, featuring more than 1,00,000 delegates, more than 500 exhibitors and more than 350 international speakers.
The event will witness the execution of more than 600 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) totaling over Rs 10 lakh crore in investment pledges.
An extensive exhibition with more than 400 exhibitors will take place alongside a broad conference agenda. IMW 2025 will feature over 12 major events, such as the 4th edition of the Global Maritime India Summit (GMIS 2025), the QUAD Ports of the Future Conference, Sagarmanthan, The Great Oceans Dialogue, the UNESCAP Asia-Pacific Dialogue, and a Maritime ‘SheEO Conference’ featuring female CEOs.
The Maritime ‘SheEO Conference’ is the world’s largest conference for women leaders in the maritime industry. This year, the focus will be on women who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, whether by founding their own companies or driving growth in organisations they were entrusted to scale.
The occasion will also include 4 country sessions with Norway, Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden, along with sessions on Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha as well as Andaman & Nicobar.
