Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday expressed his confidence in Manipur’s potential to contribute significantly to India’s growth. Speaking in Imphal, PM Modi said, “Today, as India is becoming a powerhouse in global sports, the responsibility of the youth of Manipur has increased even more. Keeping this in mind, we are engaged in encouraging them in every possible way.”
PM Modi highlighted the importance of Manipur in India’s development journey. “I believe that Manipur will play an important role in the goal of a developed India by becoming a strong centre of the country’s growth,” he stated. The Prime Minister also praised the enthusiasm and trust of the people of Manipur in his government’s development initiatives. “The enthusiasm and zeal of my brothers and sisters in Manipur in Imphal shows how deep their trust is in our government regarding the development of the state,” he added.
PM Modi paid tribute to Manipur’s brave warriors and martyrs, saying, “From the freedom struggle to Operation Sindoor, the soil of Manipur has given the nation many brave warriors and martyrs. Drawing inspiration from them, we are continuously working for the peace and prosperity of the state.”
In a gesture of goodwill, PM Modi commended the people of Nepal for upholding democratic values despite instability. “From this land of Manipur today, I commend every individual of Nepal who has upheld democratic values above all, even in an atmosphere filled with instability. India will always pray that the future of Nepal is full of brightness and prosperity,” he said.
PM Modi’s speech in Manipur comes after his visit to the state, where he inaugurated various development projects. The visit aimed to promote peace, prosperity, and progress in the region, which has faced ethnic violence in the past.
