Chhattisgarh marked its 25th Foundation Day with a blend of emotion, pride, and historic significance on Saturday as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu extended warm greetings to the people of the State.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai paid floral tribute to Chhattisgarh Mahatari, the symbolic mother figure of the State’s culture and heritage.
On the occasion of Chhattisgarh’s 25th Foundation Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the people of the State for their remarkable contribution to India’s progress and expressed confidence that Chhattisgarh would continue to play a pivotal role in realising the vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
In a post shared on social media platform X, the Prime Minister wrote, “Heartiest greetings to all my brothers and sisters of Chhattisgarh on the 25th anniversary of the State’s formation. Dedicated to nature and culture, Chhattisgarh is setting new benchmarks of progress.
“ Many regions once affected by Naxalism are now competing in development. I am confident that the hardworking and talented people of this State will continue to contribute significantly to India’s vision of a developed nation.”
The Prime Minister’s message struck a note of pride and optimism, acknowledging the transformation of Chhattisgarh from a region once marked by insurgency to one that now stands at the forefront of rural development, agricultural innovation, and industrial growth.
President Droupadi Murmu also extended her greetings to the people of Chhattisgarh, along with several other States observing their Formation Day. In a message posted on X, the President wrote, “Warm greetings to the people of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, and Puducherry on their Formation Day. Each of these regions has made remarkable contributions to India’s progress. May they continue to achieve new milestones in their journey of development.”
Marking the historic day, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai offered floral tributes to the statue of Chhattisgarh Mahatari, the divine embodiment of the State’s culture, womanhood, and heritage, at the Collectorate campus in Raipur.
Performing a traditional puja-archana in accordance with local customs, the Chief Minister prayed for the prosperity, happiness, and all-round development of the people of Chhattisgarh.
Speaking on the occasion, Sai described Chhattisgarh Mahatari as a timeless symbol of the State’s faith and pride. “Chhattisgarh Mahatari represents our identity, our values, and our pride. This sacred land venerates the power of motherhood, and by her blessings, the State continues to advance on the path of progress,” he said.
Extending greetings to citizens on the State’s Silver Jubilee, the Chief Minister reaffirmed his government’s commitment to inclusive development, women’s empowerment, agricultural growth, tribal welfare, and cultural preservation. “The Silver Jubilee is not just a celebration of our journey, it is a moment of renewed resolve and collective aspiration,” he said.
Sai also noted that the day held special significance as Prime Minister Narendra Modi would inaugurate the new Legislative Assembly building and participate in several landmark events in Raipur. “With the blessings of Chhattisgarh Mahatari, our State will undoubtedly emerge among the most prosperous and leading States of India,” the Chief Minister said.
