Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday distributed over 51,000 appointment letters to new recruits in various government departments and organizations via video conferencing at the 16th edition of Rozgar Mela.
The event was held across 47 locations in India, covering various Central Government Ministries and Departments.
“Today, more than 51 thousand youths have been given appointment letters. Through such employment fairs, millions of young people have already secured permanent jobs in the Government of India….Now these young people are playing a significant role in nation-building,” PM Modi said in a post on handle X.
Speaking at the event the Prime Minister emphasized the unmatched strengths of India’s demographic and democratic foundations. “India, with the world’s largest youth population and the largest democracy, holds unique potential to shape the future both domestically and on the global stage,” he said.
PM Modi highlighted the government’s commitment to empowering the youth, saying, “We are determined to enhance the participation of young friends in building a developed and self-reliant India.”
The Prime Minister also elaborated on flagship programs such as the PM Awas Yojana, Swachh Bharat, Ujjwala Yojana, PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, Lakhpati Didis, Bank Sakhi, Bima Sakhi, Krishi Sakhi, and Pashu Sakhi schemes, PM SVANidhi scheme, and the PM Vishwakarma Scheme.
The Rozgar Mela has led to the issuance of over 10 lakh appointment letters across India since its inception in October 2022. The event aims to empower youth and increase their participation in nation-building by providing structured employment and growth opportunities in the public sector.
“The Rozgar Mela reflects our Government’s commitment to empowering the Yuva Shakti and making them catalysts in building a Viksit Bharat,” PM Modi said.
The Rozgar Mela is a nationwide recruitment drive aimed at generating job opportunities in mission mode. It aims to empower youth and increase their participation in nation-building by providing structured employment and growth opportunities in the public sector.
Since its inception in October 2022, the Rozgar Mela has led to the issuance of over 10 lakh appointment letters across India.

Some of the key ministries involved in the recruitment process include, Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services and Ministry of Labour & Employment. END
