Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed anguish over the death of Army personnel in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda after their truck fell inot a gorge.
In a social media post on X, Modi said, “Deeply anguished by the mishap in Doda, in which we have lost our brave army personnel. Their service to the nation will be remembered forever. May the injured recover at the earliest. All possible support is being provided to those affected.”

The Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi also paid tributes to the soldiers who lost their lives in the Doda mishap.
“The news of the death of several of our brave soldiers and injuries to many others due to an army vehicle falling into a gorge in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir, is extremely heartbreaking. I pay humble tribute to the martyrs and hope for the swift recovery of the injured soldiers. In this hour of grief, we all stand with the bereaved families of our valiant soldiers,” Gandhi too posted on X.
At least 10 army soldiers were killed and as many others were injured, three of them seriously, when their vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge on the Bhaderwah-Chamba road in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

The Army vehicle met with an accident in the Khannitop area on the Bhaderwah–Chamba, J&K-Himachal Pradesh interstate road.
Rescue and response teams rushed to the spot. The injured soldiers have been airlifted to the Udhampur military hospital.
According to officials, the bulletproof Army vehicle carrying about 20 personnel was heading towards a high altitude post when the driver lost control, and the vehicle plunged into a 200-foot-deep gorge.
