PM Modi announces Rs. 2 lakh ex gratia to Bareilly mishap victims

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled the death of 22 people in the bus accident at Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly district. The PM has announced an ex gratia of Rs. 2 lakh to the next of kin of each killed in the incident.

"The bus accident in UP's Bareilly is heart-rending. I condole the loss of lives. I pray that those injured recover at the earliest," Prime Minister Modi said.

"Rs. 2 lakhs from PMNRF for the next of kin of those killed in the accident in Bareilly, UP has been announced by PM @narendramodi." he said, adding, " Rs. 50,000 will be given to those seriously injured in the accident in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, PM @narendramodi announced."

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also announced an ex gratia of Rs. 2 lakh for the kin of the deceased.

At least 22 people were on Monday charred to death in Uttar Pradesh after their bus caught fire following a massive collision with a truck on a national highway in Bareilly.

A total of thirty-seven passengers were on board the bus when the accident took place at around 2.30 am. The accident occurred when the bus from New Delhi heading towards Gonda collided head on with a truck.

Some injured were rushed to nearby medical facilities. Condition of most of them was stated to be critical.
