PM Modi Announces Ex-Gratia for Victims’ Families After Pune Accident

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Monday expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in a tragic accident in Pune, Maharashtra. In a post on handle X, he extended his condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.

The Prime Minister also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to the next of kin of each deceased, while the injured would receive Rs 50,000. This gesture demonstrates the government’s commitment to providing relief to those affected by the tragedy.

Details about the accident are still emerging, but reports suggest it involved a significant incident in Pune. At least seven people were killed, and several others were injured after a pick-up van they were travelling in fell off the road on a hilly terrain in Maharashtra’s Pune. The local administration and emergency services were quick to respond, providing assistance to the affected individuals.

However, the government and local authorities are working together to facilitate the recovery process and prevent similar incidents in the future.
