Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while making fun of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s repeat of previous year’s budget speech in the state assembly two days back, said on Sunday that the Congress had no vision nor their words have any weight even in its annual budget.

“Mistakes can be made by anyone but it turns out that the Congress has no vision, nor their voice has any weight. Their budget and budgetary announcements exist on papers or are meant for writing on papers. They have no plans and vision to bring such budgetary schemes on ground and for implementation anywhere,” the PM told a mammoth rally at Dhanavat in Dausa district after inaugurating the first portion of Delhi-Mumbai National Highway via Dausa-Lalsot.

Recalling the Rajasthan budget presented recently, Modi said: “Just a few days back what happened during the budget session is being discussed all around. The question is not which one was read but the question is that the one who had read it earlier kept it locked in a box, because of which this happened.”

The PM said: “BJP’s first priority is the state’s water and irrigation challenge. Talks between Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh on Ken-Betwa river linking are underway. A proposal has been made. A special committee on river linking has taken it up on priority. As soon as the state governments (MP, UP, Rajasthan) agree, the Central government would definitely consider it.”

Modi urged: “To get rid of Rajasthan from the state of uncertainty, instability and poor growth rate in the Congress rule, and for stable, developmental government, better law and order situation, then have a double engine power government. I am seeing this excitement in the mammoth crowd of Dausa.”

Earlier, at the inauguration of the highway in Dausa, the PM said that this is a grand picture of a developing India. When such modern roads are built, the country’s progress gains momentum. This project will change the picture of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat including Rajasthan, he said.
