MP: BJP wins municipal by-poll
As per the by-poll results announced on Friday, BJP candidate Jitu Rathore defeated Congress candidate Vikas Joshi by a margin of 4255 votes.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday congratulated the Members of Parliament who were selected for the Sansad Ratna Awards 2023.
Quoting a tweet by Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi, Modi tweeted: “Congratulations to the MP colleagues who will be conferred the Sansad Ratna Awards. May they keep enriching parliamentary proceedings with their rich insights.”

Joshi had tweeted: “Congratulations to the eminent Parliamentarians on being conferred upon Sansad Ratna Awards for 2023.”
“Thirteen MPs, two Parliamentary Committees and one Lifetime Achievement honour will be awarded during the 13th edition of the awards,” Joshi tweeted.
The eight MP awardees from the Lok Sabha are Bidyut Baran Mahato (BJP-Jharkhand), Dr Sukanta Majumdar (BJP-West Bengal), Kuldeep Rai Sharma (Congress-Andaman Nicobar Islands), Dr Heena Vijayakumar Gavit (BJP-Maharashtra), Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury (Congress-West Bengal), Gopal Chinayya Shetty (BJP-Maharashtra), Sudhir Gupta (BJP-Madhya Pradesh) and Dr Amol Ramsing Kolhe (NCP-Maharashtra).
The five MP awardees from the Rajya Sabha are Dr John Brittas (CPI-M Kerala), Dr Manoj Kumar Jha (RJD-Bihar), Fauzia Tehseen Ahmed Khan (NCP-Maharashtra), Vishambhar Prasad Nishad (Samajwadi Party-Uttar Pradesh) and Chhaya Verma (Congress-Chhattisgarh).
T K Rangarajan, a former Rajya Sabha member of the CPI (M), will be conferred the Dr A P J Abdul Kalam Lifetime Achievement Award. The Standing Committee Awardees are Jayant Sinha (BJP-Jharkhand), Chairman of the Finance Committee from Lok Sabha and V Vijayasai Reddy (YSRCP-Andhra Pradesh), Chairman of the Transport, Tourism and Culture Committee from the Rajya Sabha.
