Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma have announced ex gratia to the victims of a tempo traveler and a stationary truck at Matoda in Phalodi district.
As many as 15 pilgrims—10 women, 4 children, and the tempo driver—were killed, and three sustained injuries in the mishap Sunday evening.
PM Modi announced last night the ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the next of kin of each deceased and Rs 50,000 each to the injured from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund.
Likewise, Chief Minister Sharma announced the ex-gratia to victims here on Monday. Accordingly, the next of kin of each deceased will get Rs 10 lakh, seriously injured will get Rs 2 lakh, and persons with minor/mild injuries will get Rs 2 lakh.
However, in case of the death of three or more members of the same family in the mishap, the family will be paid ex gratia of Rs 25 lakh in total, a CMO spokesman clarified.
