Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Saturday launched a scathing attack on Congress party saying that the people of the country have lost “faith” in the party.

Rijiju in a series of tweets slammed the Congress saying, “Since people of India have lost faith in Congress Party, Congress doesn’t trust people of India and it’s institutions”.

“They don’t trust Army, They don’t trust CJI, They don’t trust SC, They don’t trust EC, They don’t trust EVMs, They don’t trust RBI, They don’t trust PMO
They don’t trust President, And they saying, Democracy in Danger!!,” added Rijiju in his tweet.

“Just imagine, in place of Congress Party if BJP had criticised Supreme Court on the verdict in the judge BH Loya death case. The whole Pseudo-Secularists gang would have created havoc and told the whole world that judiciary in India is under severe threat,” Rijiju said in a tweet.

Earlier, the Bharatiya Janata Party hit out at the Congress and other opposition parties for submitting an impeachment notice for removal of Chief Justice Dipak Misra, saying it aims to cover up their repeated failures in judicial battles.

The BJP also said that the move was to “degrade and denigrate” the judiciary as the Congress and other parties were getting exposed to the judgments related to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders.

“Today (Friday) is a sad day because the government is working in every possible way but the opposition is continuously trying to degrade and denigrate the institutions,” BJP spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi told reporters here.

She said the opposition parties were constantly threatening to bring an impeachment motion against people who chose to stand independently.

“So, on its own merit, the cases have fallen because these were all fabricated cases. There are evidence to the contrary and the fabrication could not go beyond a certain point. That is why the cases are falling and to cover up (this), they are using impeachment proceedings,” she added.

The opposition move came a day after a Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra rejected a PIL for a SIT probe into the death of CBI court judge BH Loya, who was conducting a trial in the killing of gangster Sohrabuddin Sheikh in Gujarat in which BJP President Amit Shah was an accused.
