A two-day international conference “Anamayam” was organized jointly by Patanjali University, Patanjali Research Institute, and the Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi.
The event aimed to provide a global platform to promote integration and coordination between Ayurveda and modern medicine.
Over 300 participants from around 200 academic institutions across 16 states participated in both online and offline formats. Medical experts, researchers, policymakers, and health technology professionals from premier national institutions shared their insights.
On the occasion, Patanjali University Chancellor Swami Ramdev made a major announcement, stating that world-class treatment will soon be available at Patanjali Ayurved Hospital through collaboration with AIIMS, Tata Cancer Hospital, and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital — all at minimal cost and with a focus on public welfare.
During the inaugural session, Swami Ramdev, Patanjali University Vice Chancellor Acharya Balkrishna, and other dignitaries unveiled three significant books: Ayurveda Avataran, Integrated Pathy, and the conference compendium.
An MoU was signed between Patanjali University and experts from IIT Ropar — Dr. Shreya, Dr. Radhika, and Dr. Mukesh — to promote joint efforts in education and research.
Swami Ramdev stressed the importance of evidence-based medicine and integrated healthcare, saying, “Medical science should serve the people, not profits.”
Acharya Balkrishna highlighted the global recognition of nine major medical systems and noted that Ayurveda is known for its intrinsic strengths, whereas others are often region- or tradition-specific. He elaborated on classical, geographical, and archaeological evidence related to the eras of Maharshi Charak and Acharya Sushrut. He reaffirmed that Patanjali Ayurved Hospital aims to deliver world-class treatment at low cost using modern medical methods, eliminating exploitation and conspiracy in the name of medicine.
Key speakers included Prof. Srinivas Barkhedi, Vice Chancellor of Central Sanskrit University; Dr. Vipin Kumar, Secretary General of Integrated AYUSH Council; Dr. Sunil Ahuja; Padma Shri Dr. B.N. Gangadhar, Chairman of the National Medical Commission; and Dr. Vishal Mago, Professor and HoD of Burns and Plastic Surgery at AIIMS Rishikesh.
The inaugural session saw ceremonial honoring of chief guests by Swami Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna, followed by lamp lighting and cultural performances including the university anthem and Dhanvantari Vandana led by Chandramohan and team. Dr. Anurag, Vice President of Patanjali Research Institute, delivered the welcome address.
