The eighth annual celebration of Patanjali Gurukulam, operated under the Bharatiya Shiksha Board, was held in the grand auditorium of Patanjali University.
Addressing the gathering of eminent saints, Patanjali Yogpeeth’s Paramadhyaksha Swami Ramdev said that in our ancient Gurukuls, the Guru-Shishya tradition imparted not only knowledge but also moral integrity, purity of character, gentleness in speech and conduct, and righteous behaviour. Students educated in ancient Gurukuls once led the world, and Patanjali Gurukulam is carrying forward this same Rishi tradition by preparing students for global leadership.
Swami Ramdev shared that children from almost every state of India — from ages three to five up to Class 12 — are studying at Patanjali Gurukulam.
He further said that great sages and saints like Maharshi Dayanand, Lord Basavanna, Saint Manibadeshwar, Sant Dnyaneshwar, Sant Ravidas, and Sant Kabirdas broke down the walls of superstition, bondage, and discrimination, spreading the message of unity, coexistence, and harmony. “They taught us that the entire creation is pervaded by one Brahman, one Supreme Being. These divine truths of Sanatan Dharma were conveyed to humanity with authenticity and compassion. The Vedas make no distinction — they unite, not divide,” Swami Ji emphasised.
He also praised the Acharyas of Patanjali Gurukulam for playing a vital role in shaping the character of students and helping them attain excellence in life.
Junapeethadheeshwar Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Avadheshanand Giri Maharaj said that Patanjali Gurukulam is a “unique laboratory for the preservation and promotion of India’s timeless, immortal culture, ancient heritage, and Vedic sensitivities.”
He added, “An elevated form of human consciousness is being awakened among the students here. The light of Patanjali Gurukulam, kindled by Swami Ramdev Ji, will illuminate the entire world.”
Acharya Balkrishna Ji said that Patanjali Gurukulam has strengthened India’s culture, Sanatan traditions, and values. “Here, children are not only learning knowledge but are being imbued with strong values. The parents who sent their children to Patanjali for such an upbringing must feel proud today, as their children are realising their dreams through Patanjali,” he said.
Paramadhyaksha of Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh, Swami Chidanand Muni Ji Maharaj said, “Looking at the children of Patanjali Gurukulam, I felt that it is these eternal truths that must be revealed to future generations. Unfortunately, what should have been highlighted was hidden, and what never existed was shown. The true foundation of India’s history lies in Sanatan Dharma. Today, it is time to see India through India’s own eyes, and Patanjali Gurukulam is playing a vital role in this endeavour.”
Mahamandaleshwar Swami Harichetananand Ji Maharaj said that Swami Ramdev Ji Maharaj is an important link in the revered lineage of saints that has flourished on this sacred land for ages. “Through Patanjali Gurukulam, Swami Ramdev Ji has conveyed the message of Sanatan Dharma to the entire world,” he added.
The ceremony also included prize distribution for winners of academic, sports, and scripture competitions. Students from Patanjali Gurukul Jwalapur, Patanjali Kanya Gurukulam Devprayag, and Patanjali Gurukulam Haridwar presented cultural programs, dances, and plays that deeply moved the audience.
During the eighth annual celebration of Patanjali Gurukulam, Sadhvi Bhagwati, Dr. N.P. Singh (Executive Chairman of the Bharatiya Shiksha Board), and several distinguished guests blessed the students with inspiring messages.
The event was graced by Mata Gulab Devi, Dr. Yashdev Shastri, Sadhvi Acharya Devpriya, Dr. Ritambhara Shastri, Sister Anshul Sharma, Sister Parul Sharma, Sadhvi Devmayi, Sadhvi Devsudha, Sadhvi Devaradhana, Sadhvi Devshruti, Sadhvi Devashrita, Sadhvi Devanjala, Sadhvi Devshakti, Swami Ishdev, and Swami Viraktadev, among others.
