A one-day workshop on Pharmacovigilance was successfully organized at Patanjali Ayurveda College, Haridwar, jointly organized by the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, and the Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Ranikhet.
Approximately 100 participants attended the workshop. The inaugural session was attended by Dr. Om Prakash, Assistant Director-in-Charge, RARI Ranikhet; Dr. Anil Kumar, Principal, Patanjali Ayurveda College; Dr. Girish K.J., Vice-Principal, Patanjali Ayurveda College; and Dr. Tarun Kumar, Research Officer, RARI Ranikhet.
Expert speakers elaborated on the need to identify potential side effects of Ayurvedic medicines, document them, and develop a culture of reporting among physicians.
The organizers stated that such workshops will not only strengthen the scientific and credibility of Ayurvedic medicine but will also be an important step towards ensuring safe treatment for the benefit of patients.
