Passenger nabbed at Kannur Airport with narcotics concealed in slippers

Even as the security agencies are tightening the noose around illegal and anti-social activities, criminals and their ilk are resorting to new tricks to carry out their illegitimate acts. But the ever vigilant agencies are always prepared and equipped to outsmart them.

In one such incident reported from the Kannur International Airport in Kerala on Saturday, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which is in charge of airport security at all commercial airports in India, apprehended a Doha bound passenger at the Kannur Airport who was allegedly carrying narcotic substance in his footwear.

The CISF personnel reportedly apprehended a passenger Ajas Valiyaballath carrying Hashish weighing about 910 gm, worth approximately Rs 7 lakh, concealed in his slippers and undergarment. Ajas Valiyaballath was handed over to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials.

Meanwhile, at the IGI Airport, New Delhi, the CISF personnel nabbed a Zimbabwean lady passenger Nastor Farirai Ziso who was reportedly carrying 20.8 kg narcotics substance Pseudoephedrine worth approximately Rs 21 lakh concealed in ladies purses  She was handed over to NCB officials.
