Delhi’s legislators will soon be equipped with the digital legislative skills by experts from the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs in a three-day NeVA (National e-Vidhan Application) training program scheduled to take place between July 21 and 23.

Over the three days, the members of the legislative assembly (MLAs) will be trained in digital document access, real-time tracking of legislative business, submission of questions and motions, and other digital workflows essential to a modern, efficient Assembly.

To ensure things fall in place in the assembly’s digitalization journey, Speaker Vijender Gupta on Thursday inspected the special training center which is currently being readied by the Public Works Department (PWD) in the Vidhan Sabha premises.

The newly-constructed training centre has been equipped with approximately 20 advanced computers to facilitate hands-on learning for the MLAs.

The training sessions for the MLAs will be conducted by experts from the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs (MoPA), who will guide the legislators through the features and functionalities of the NeVA platform, an initiative towards digital transformation of the Delhi assembly which will also make its working go paperless.

The experts will also provide hands-on instruction to ensure that legislators are well-equipped to navigate the digital tools and workflows essential for modern legislative operations.

The NeVA training program is aimed at familiarizing members with the digital tools and functionalities of the application for the upcoming monsoon session, likely to commence at the end of this month or early in August.

This initiative aligns with the government’s Digital India mission, and promotes a paperless legislative ecosystem that enhances transparency, accountability, and environmental sustainability.
