Ruckus was witnessed in Parliament on Tuesday, on the third day of the Budget Session. Amid debate on the motion of ‘Thanks to the President’s Address’, the Lok Sabha faced repeated adjournments over the issues of the India-US ‘trade deal’ as well as over the matter of Congress MP and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi again raising the India-China issue. The Lok Sabha was adjourned yesterday after a heated exchange between the Congress and the ruling BJP over former Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane’s “unpublished” book on the 2020 India-China border skirmishes. The debate had started after Rahul Gandhi repeatedly sought to raise the alleged details of the Chinese aggression along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh in 2020.
Earlier today, the Congress party had asked the Central government to take Parliament into confidence on the recent US and EU trade deals. Congress MP KC Venugopal gave an Adjournment Motion notice in Lok Sabha to discuss the India-US trade agreement, claiming “adverse consequences” for Indian industries and farmers. Last night, India and the United States announced the trade deal reducing tariffs on Indian goods’ export to the US to 18 per cent.
Parliament updates:
After being suspended from the Lok Sabha for the Budget Session, Congress MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla slammed the Narendra Modi government, accusing it of putting the country on lease to appease Trump.
"Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi expressed his worry regarding the security of the nation...They never allow him to speak...They switch off all the mics...We have put the entire nation on lease just to appease Trump...," he said.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh has asserted that the government will not tolerate indiscipline in Parliament.
"Today, things went too far. Today, someone climbed onto the General Secretary's table and tore up the documents. This is an unfortunate attitude. Perhaps these people believe that only members of the Gandhi family can rule, and that the son of a tea seller can never govern. If the House is to function, it will do so according to its rules and regulations. The House will not function through indiscipline."
Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has called the suspension of eight Congress MPs from the Lok Sabha as "ridiculous". She further said: "In a democracy, every member should have the right to speak and their concerns should be heard."

The Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat hailed the India-US trade deal, saying that the agreement would boost India's manufacturing activities and widen its scope.
He said, "The year 2026 is certainly going to be extraordinary for the country. On one hand, the India–EU FTA has been concluded, which was considered the 'mother of all deals' so far. This has created a positive atmosphere not only across the country but globally as well. After that, following the talks between the Prime Minister and the US President yesterday, the uncertainty surrounding trade between India and the US has suddenly cleared. Those clouds of doubt have dispersed, and as a result, manufacturing activities in India will definitely gain more momentum, strength, and expanded scope."
