Paramita Tripathi named India’s next Ambassador to Kuwait

Paramita Tripathi, a 2001-batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, has been appointed the next Ambassador of India to Kuwait, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Friday.

Tripathi, who is currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry, is expected to assume her new assignment shortly.

On August 26, India and Kuwait held the 7th round of Foreign Office Consultations in New Delhi.

The talks were co-chaired by Aseem R. Mahajan, Additional Secretary (Gulf), MEA, and Ambassador Sameeh Essa Johar Hayat, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asia Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait.

According to the MEA, Ambassador Sameeh also called on Arun Kumar Chatterjee, Secretary (CPV & OIA).

During the consultations, both sides undertook a comprehensive review of bilateral relations and exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The discussions covered various ongoing initiatives and opportunities to further strengthen the strategic partnership in multiple sectors, including politics, trade, investment, defence, energy, culture, and people-to-people ties.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the roadmap outlined under the leadership of both countries during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Kuwait in December 2024, the MEA added.
