Over 6,000 UP workers are safe in Israel: UP govt and Indian Embassy are monitoring situation

The Uttar Pradesh government has stated that all state construction workers deployed in Israel are working regularly at their work sites and the state government is maintaining constant surveillance during the ongoing Israel-Iran war.

Currently, a total of 6,004 construction workers from Uttar Pradesh are working on various projects in Israel. These workers were selected through the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and the Israeli government agency, the Population and Immigration Authority (PIBA), for the year 2024.

State Labour, Employment, and Coordination Minister Anil Rajbhar has assured the workers and their families that the government is fully committed to their safety. Principal Secretary, Labor and Employment, Dr. M.K. Shanmuga Sundaram, spoke to Indian Ambassador to Israel, J.P. Singh, stating that the situation is under control.

It is noteworthy that in view of the current situation in Central Asia, the Embassy of India, Tel Aviv has issued a security advisory for Indian citizens living in Israel. The Embassy has advised citizens to remain vigilant, follow the instructions of the local administration and avoid unnecessary movement.
