Over 5.24 lakh candidates are expected to appear in the recruitment examination being conducted by the Rajasthan Police in 21 cities of the state on Saturday and Sunday to fill 10,000 posts of constable.
The exam is being held in three shifts: the first shift today from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, the second shift tomorrow from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, and the third shift tomorrow from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. More than 1,05,000 candidates will write the exam in nine cities, including Jaipur, during the first shift this afternoon. Over 2,09,000 and 2,08,000 candidates are eligible to appear in the exam in 21 cities in the second and third shifts, respectively, tomorrow.
Against the backdrop of several instances of paper leaks and proxy candidates, the examination is being conducted by the police department itself under strict vigil and elaborate security arrangements. Candidates were allowed entry to the examination hall only after biometric identity verification and strict multi-layer frisking from the campus entrance to the hall. Even inside the hall, candidates remain under constant CCTV surveillance. Adequate police personnel have been deployed at the examination centres, while SOG and intelligence squads maintain extra vigilance.
Adequate transport arrangements have also been made for aspirants travelling from their hometowns to exam centres. To facilitate this, “Exam Special” trains were run from 11 cities, and the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) arranged additional buses for examinees.
