Uttar Pradesh has achieved a remarkable milestone in FY 2025–26 under the Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.

Led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state has set a benchmark in rural livelihoods by providing employment to over 23 lakh women this year. The MGNREGA mission has boosted women’s incomes and strengthened their self-reliance, officials here said on Sunday.

Around 32,000 women supervisors have been employed so far, with over ₹111 crore directly credited to their accounts. Timely and transparent payments have further enhanced trust in government schemes.

Priority is being given to members of women’s self-help groups under NRLM, fostering leadership and management skills among rural women while generating employment.

Over 97% of workers have received timely payments, reflecting the system’s growing transparency and efficiency. A total of ₹6,703 crore has been spent under the scheme, accelerating village development, creating local jobs, and reducing migration. A special focus on Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe families ensures inclusive growth.

Through the employment guarantee scheme, Uttar Pradesh is laying a sustainable foundation for rural livelihoods, empowering millions of families and shaping a resilient rural economy.
