Uttar Pradesh Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Excise and Prohibition, Nitin Agarwal, has said that excise revenue collections of ₹26,149.32 crore have been collected in the month of September,2025-26, an increase of ₹3,586.17 crore, or 15.89 percent, compared to the revenue of ₹22,563.15 crore achieved in September in the previous year.
The Excise Minister informed here on Monday that the target of the state till September, 2025 was Rs. 27,600.00 crore and the department has collected 94.74 % revenue against the target.
Nitin Agarwal said that in the financial year 2025-26, till August, 2025, a total of 50,097 cases of manufacturing, selling and smuggling of illegal liquor were registered in the state and 13.30 lakh litres of illegal liquor was recovered. While arresting 9,463 persons involved in illegal liquor trade, 1,808 persons were sent to jail and 64 vehicles involved in smuggling of illegal liquor were seized.
Similarly, in the month of September, 2025, a total of 9,717 cases of manufacturing, selling and smuggling of illegal liquor were registered in the state and about 2.58 lakh bulk litres of illegal liquor was recovered. While arresting 1,813 persons involved in illegal liquor trade, 332 persons were sent to jail and 15 vehicles involved in smuggling of illegal liquor were seized.
