Opposition Demands PM Modi’s Presence in Parliament on Key Issues

In a meeting of the India bloc leaders attended by Rajya Sabha Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge and Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, the opposition decided to push for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s presence in the House, Congress General Secretary K C Venugopal said on Tuesday.

Asserting that the aim is to get answers on several pressing national issues, Venugopal said the key issues the Opposition wants to raise and wants the Prime Minister to respond include Pahalgam terror attack, Operation Sindoor and Donald Trump’s statements on the ceasefire, Bihar SIR Process, Delimitation, Growing atrocities against Dalits, Adivasis, Backward classes and women, and AI 171 plane crash.

The Monsoon session of Parliament got off to a rocky start on Monday, with the Opposition demanding discussion on a host of pressing issues.
