A one-year-old infant died on an Air India Express flight from Jaipur to Bengaluru even as the flight made a medical emergency landing at the Indore airport late Tuesday evening.
According to sources, the incident occurred in Air India Express flight IX1240, which took off from Jaipur at 5.30 pm. It was scheduled to reach Bengaluru at night, but the pilot requested a medical emergency landing at Indore.
The flight was made to land at the Indore airport at around 8 pm.
A team of doctors attended on the child, identified as Mohammad Abraar.
He was travelling with his parents and elder brother. He experienced severe breathing problems during the flight. After landing at Indore, he was rushed to a hospital but doctors declared him dead.
Sources representing the airline stated that a fellow passenger on the flight, who is a doctor, had also provided CPR to the kid mid air. However, despite best possible efforts, the child could not be saved.
They added that the child already had some medical condition.
