ODOP product fairs to be held before Diwali: CM Yogi

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has emphasized the need to organize indigenous fairs in districts during the festivals to support local artisans and entrepreneurs.

He stated that the MSME department would cooperate in this effort, and before Diwali, fairs for One District-One Product (ODOP) and local products should be held in every district for a week between October 10 and 18.

“It would greatly benefit local entrepreneurs and traders and also help people avoid buying foreign products,” CM said.

The Chief Minister made these remarks while addressing a state-level workshop on the “Atmanirbhar Bharat Swadeshi Sankalp” here on Tuesday.

Yogi said that UPITS will be held in Greater Noida from September 25th to 29th. Products made within Uttar Pradesh will not only be showcased but will also receive a larger platform.

He said that traders from across the country, including foreign ones, are coming to purchase. All the hotels in the vicinity, including Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna Authority, are full. Last year, sales of ₹2,200 crore were recorded in four days. This successful event provides a platform for artisans, entrepreneurs, and handicraftsmen from Uttar Pradesh. He urged everyone to visit ITS one day.

“It will reveal the power of Uttar Pradesh,” he said.

The Chief Minister stated that Swadeshi is going to be a part of the campaign for a self-reliant India. It is a campaign to realize the vision of a developed India and strengthen its foundation.
