Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University organised a specialised workshop at its Institute of Business and Computer Studies (IBCS) to empower young researchers with data analytic and research publication skills, recently.
The workshop, titled “Statistical Package for Social Sciences for Research and Publication Excellence: Empowering Young Researchers with Data Analytic Skills”, brought together research scholars from a wide range of disciplines including biotechnology, medical sciences, dental sciences, nursing, cultural studies, pharmacy, agriculture, management and other interdisciplinary fields.
Scholars from various constituent institutes and departments of SOA actively participated in the programme that focused on enhancing research quality through effective use of statistical tools and analytical techniques.
Addressing the inaugural session, SOA Pro-Vice Chancellor Prashanta Kumar Patra emphasised the need for quality research, effective statistical application and publication excellence in academic work.
Delivering the keynote address, Hareram Sahoo spoke on “Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Research Excellence”, stressing innovation-driven research, entrepreneurship development, intellectual property awareness and practical utilisation of research outcomes for societal benefit.
Welcoming the participants, Ayasa Kanta Mohanty said the initiative was aimed at strengthening research competencies and analytical capabilities among emerging scholars.
The technical sessions were conducted by Manoranjan Dash, who served as the resource person for the workshop. He provided hands-on training on SPSS-based data analysis, statistical techniques, interpretation of research findings and their application in academic publication.
The workshop was coordinated by Preeti Y. Shadangi, whose efforts ensured smooth conduct of the programme.
Speaking at the valedictory session, chief guest Bibhudendu Pati underscored the importance of quality research and data-driven academic practices in higher education.
SOA Dean (Students’ Welfare) Jyoti Rajan Das also encouraged participants to pursue innovative, impactful and socially relevant research.
