The Odisha Police Housing and Welfare Corporation (OPHWC) on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State’s Home Department, aiming to achieve a turnover of Rs 1500 crore in the financial year 2025-26.
Satyabrata Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, and SK Priyadarsi, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, OPHWC, signed the MoU.
OPHWC, a profit-making, Silver-Rated Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) of the State Government, clocked a significant growth in the recent years, recording turnover of Rs 1090 crore in 2023-24 fiscal and Rs 1366 crore in 2024-25 fiscal , reflecting a 25% increase.
The turnover of the corporation has grown significantly from Rs332 crore in the year 2014-15 toRs 1366 Cr in the 2024-25 fiscal, while its profit has also risen from Rs20 crore to Rs 95 crore over the same period.
As a self-sustaining Pubic Sector Undertaking, OPHWC meets all financial obligations from its own resources and also it has been paying dividends to the State Government since 2014-15 fiscal. The cumulative dividend paid so far by this Corporation to Govt. of Odisha is Rs.64.77 Cr,with an additional Rs. 21.28 crore slated for payment to the state exchequer in the current financial year.
As the only SAP-enabled PSU in Odisha’s construction sector, OPHWC manages its operations—from project estimates to vendor payments—through SAP, ensuring efficiency and transparency. The corporation executes a wide range of projects for departments including Police, Fire, Prisons, Judiciary, Higher Education, Transport, ST & SC, DTET, Excise, Agriculture, Health, Sports & Youth Affairs, and Forest.
The major ongoing projects of the Corporation comprised of 126 Ama Bus Stand ProjectPhase II having a total project cost of Rs 1753.54 Cr, Model Jail at Jamujhari, Bhubaneswar having a project cost of Rs 331.23 crore.
The other high value and prestigious projects which are nearing to completion are Hostel Building & Facility Center at Gopabandhu Academy of Administration, Bhubaneswar, Abakari (excise) Bhawan, Bhubaneswar (a multistoried excise office building), New Academic Building at MS Law University, Cuttack, Academic & Administrative Building of Rajendra University, Bolangir and Centre of Excellence on Silver Filigree, Cuttack.
