Odisha Police crack burglary case in 24 hours

The Bargarh police have cracked a daring house burglary case 24 hours after the commission of the crime, Odisha police said on Monday.

The arrested accused–Jaga Meher and a juvenile delinquent– had barged into the house of Chanchal Kumar Meher of Jamla village in Bargarh district when the family members were on an outdoor trip on 9 November.

The valuables stolen by the duo included, among other things, around 400 grams of gold valued at Rs 30 lakh and Rs 40,000 cash.

After the commission of the crime, they left the Barpali area and planned to escape to Tamil Nadu when police, acting on a tipoff, arrested them, said Bargarh Superintendent of Police Prahlad Sahai Meena.
