Odisha Health Minister, Naba Das sustained critical injury, when a police officer, deployed at his prpgrame, opened fire at him in Jharsuguda district on Sunday.
According to information, Gopal Das, an Assistant Sub Inspector, who was deployed to maintain law and order in the programme venue, shot at the Minister with a service revolver from a close range in Brajrajnagar.

Two more persons, including a police officer, are reported to have been injured in the incident. The reason behind the incident has yet to be ascertained.

The accused was overpowered at the spot and is now under police custody. He is being interrogated, said Sub Divisional Police Officer, Gupteswar Bhoi. Details are awaited.
