NTA to conduct mock drill on June 20 ahead of NEET-UG re-exam

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is all set to conduct a nationwide mock drill on Saturday, June 20, ahead of the NEET-UG re-examination the day after.

This is being done as part of the agency’s preparations to ensure the smooth, secure and transparent conduct of the re-test, PTI quoted officials as saying on Friday.

In a statement, the NTA stated that it is fully prepared for the NEET-UG 2026 re-exam on Sunday, June 21. It added that the district administrations, police forces and escort teams have been tasked with securely transporting confidential materials related to the test.

The high-stakes re-exam will be conducted from 2 p.m. to 5.15 p.m. in pen-and-paper mode across 551 cities in India as well as 14 cities abroad for more than 22.79 lakh candidates.

Also, it noted that candidates with disabilities (PwD/PwBD) eligible for compensatory time will get to write the exam till 6.20 p.m.

The re-exam includes close coordination between multiple agencies and levels of administration, with as many as 674 city coordinators looking after city-level operations and 6,669 observers deployed for independent oversight at examination centres, PTI reported.

Further, centre superintendents and invigilators will be deployed at every examination centre.

Overall, more than two lakh personnel, including police and district administration officials, have been mobilised to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the re-test.
