NSA Ajit Doval holds high-level talks with Saudi leadership in Riyadh, discusses regional issues,

National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval paid an official visit to Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh on Sunday and held a series of high-level meetings with senior Saudi ministers, focusing on bilateral ties, energy cooperation, and regional developments. The visit highlights the growing strategic engagement between New Delhi and Riyadh at a time of shifting geopolitical dynamics.

During his visit, Doval met Saudi Arabia’s Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and National Security Advisor Musaed Al-Aiban. According to the Embassy of India in Riyadh, the discussions covered a wide range of issues of mutual interest, including regional security and strengthening bilateral cooperation.

The meetings are seen as part of ongoing efforts to expand collaboration in critical sectors, especially energy and security, which remain central to India-Saudi relations.

Officials said the talks also addressed the evolving regional situation, with both sides exchanging views on key developments affecting West Asia and beyond. The dialogue reflects a shared interest in maintaining stability and enhancing coordination on strategic matters.

Parallel diplomatic outreach on global conflicts

Doval’s visit to Saudi Arabia comes shortly after his meeting with Rustem Umerov, Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defence Council, on April 17. The talks reviewed bilateral ties and focused on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.

India reiterated its consistent position, emphasising a peaceful resolution through dialogue and diplomacy. The discussions also examined the broader global impact of the conflict, including its effects on energy supplies and food security.

The back-to-back high-level engagements underline India’s active diplomatic outreach on major international issues. By engaging both key regional partners like Saudi Arabia and stakeholders in global conflicts, New Delhi continues to position itself as a constructive voice on security and stability.
