Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday said that no untoward incident has been reported from the Valley since the abrogation of Article 370, that granted special status to the state.

Public transport has started plying and there are encouraging reports of normal movement from a lot of rural areas, Jammu and Kashmir Principal Secretary (Planning Commission) Rohit Kansal informed.

He said the government was looking forward to opening schools beginning with primary schools all over the Valley on Monday.

All government offices will fully start functioning from Monday, the official said.

Kansal further said that all telephone exchanges in Kashmir valley, barring a few vulnerable areas, might be made functional by Sunday evening.

Since today morning, relaxations on restrictions have been provided in areas under 35 police stations across the Valley.

More than 50,000 landline phones have been made operational on Saturday after services in 17 exchanges of the Kashmir Valley were restored after a period of about 12 days, as part of gradual easing of restrictions in a phased manner.

2G mobile internet services have been restored in Jammu, Reasi, Samba, Kathua and Udhampur districts of Jammu.

Jammu and Kashmir was put under virtual curfew on 5 August when the Modi government scrapped the Article 370 and split the state into two union territories.
