Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday held a high-level meeting to review the development projects announced during the Pragati Yatra and directed officials to ensure their timely completion.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary and other senior officials presented department-wise progress reports.
The statewide yatra, conducted from December 2024 to February 2025, resulted in the announcement of 430 projects across 22 departments, all of which were later approved by the Cabinet.
Nitish Kumar expressed confidence that these schemes would provide new momentum and direction to development activities in the state, with direct benefits expected to improve the standard of living in Bihar.
In a message posted on X, the Chief Minister said, “I inspected development works in all districts during the Pragati Yatra in December 2024 and January-February 2025. Based on people’s feedback and emerging needs, new projects were approved, on which Rs 50,000 crore will be spent.”
“Work is being carried out in a planned manner for the development of all regions and all sections of the state. Instructions have been given to ensure that the schemes created for the welfare of the people are implemented with full sensitivity and promptness. We want Bihar to be counted among the most developed states in the country,” he added.
Nitish Kumar’s statewide tour a few months before the Assembly elections was widely viewed as a political masterstroke, with his engagement with women voters at its core. While the tour energised party workers, it also strengthened his longstanding connection with women, an influential voter base he has cultivated over the years.
The outreach helped consolidate his position as a leader focused on the state’s progress and further reinforced his political legacy.
