Amir Rashid Ali, an aide of Dr Umar Nabi, the main accused in the Delhi Red Fort blast case, showed no remorse and remained remarkably calm during court proceedings.
A remand copy accessed by UNI reveals that Ali was involved in providing logistical support and participating in terror-related activities.
The NIA team will now take him to Kashmir for a confrontation with other accused individuals arrested by the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Ali, in whose name the car used in the attack was registered, was arrested in Delhi on Sunday. He was produced before a special NIA court on Monday, which remanded him to ten days of NIA custody.
The remand application, containing several startling details, stated: “Amir is found to be involved in terrorist-related activities. He was found involved in providing assistance to the deceased accused, Dr. Umar Nabi. Amir provided logistical and procurement support to Umar.”
The document further notes that Amir had visited a safe house arranged by the deceased accused, Umar. According to the remand copy, Amir also assisted Umar in preparing the IED and explosives used in the blast.
In an interview with UNI, Smriti Chaturvedi, the remand advocate in the matter, said that Amir showed no remorse.
“He had no fear, remorse, or regret on his face. He is only the registered owner of the vehicle used in the blast. The ten-day remand was sought by the NIA and granted by the court,” she said.
