A team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) revisited Al-Falah University on Friday, initiating a fresh round of questioning with all the arrested co-accused in the ongoing blast investigation.

In a significant development, a grinder was recovered from Dr Muzammil’s Room No. 15, the same location where 360 kg of explosives were previously discovered.

The NIA team has detained Shabbir, a driver from Faridabad, for interrogation.

During questioning, Shabbir informed the investigating agencies that Dr. Muzammil was the one who purchased the grinder. He stated that the doctor used his sister’s wedding as a pretext for the purchase, claiming it was intended as a gift for the ceremony.

According to Shabbir’s testimony, Dr. Muzammil moved the grinder from Shabbir’s house to his own Room No. 15 the very next day.

In a separate but related revelation, sources privy to the investigation disclosed that another accused, suicide bomber Dr. Umar, frequently questioned female patients about their religious practices.

“Dr Umar used to question female patients about wearing the Hijab and their prayers while he was treating them at a hospital,” said the source. “He is reported to have asked patients, ‘Why is your head not properly covered?’ and ‘How many times do you offer Namaz?'”
