NHPC CMD Bhupender Gupta led the World Environment Day 2026 celebrations in the company at its corporate office in Faridabad by planting a sapling and launching a plantation drive.
The event, which took place on June 5, was organised as part of NHPC’s nationwide observance of World Environment Day across its corporate office, regional offices, power stations, projects and other units, reaffirming the organisation’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
While addressing the gathering, Gupta emphasised the need for collective action towards environmental conservation and urged everyone to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives.
He highlighted the importance of preserving ecological balance and conserving natural resources for future generations. Further, he underscored the significance of environmental stewardship and called upon employees to actively contribute towards building a cleaner, greener and more sustainable future.
Senior officers and employees participated enthusiastically in the programme and planted saplings within the office premises, reaffirming NHPC’s unwavering commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development.
