National Conference MP Chowdry Muhammad Ramzan launched a scathing attack on the PDP, alleging that despite its public posturing, its political umbilical cord with the BJP remains intact and continues to manifest itself through calculated manoeuvres aimed at derailing the larger democratic struggle of Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing scores of party functionaries and office-bearers, Chowdry Ramzan said the political choreography between the PDP and the BJP becomes increasingly visible whenever the National Conference intensifies its campaign for the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s constitutional, political, and democratic rights.

Chowdry asserted that history bears witness to a recurring pattern in which forces opposed to the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir have repeatedly attempted to create political distractions whenever the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference has emerged at the forefront of a decisive political movement.

“Whenever the National Conference prepares for a larger constitutional battle or assumes a more assertive role in championing the rights of Jammu and Kashmir, surrogate political formations suddenly become hyperactive. The 1999 Autonomy Resolution was countered by the emergence of the PDP, whose primary objective was to fragment public opinion and dilute a united political voice. Recently, when the National Conference Legislature Party resolved to take the peaceful and constitutional struggle for the restoration of statehood and democratic guarantees to the national capital, the PDP once again embarked on a campaign of diversion and obfuscation,” he said.

He further stated that the PDP’s politics has consistently revolved around creating confusion, fostering political ambiguity, and providing indirect relief to forces seeking to weaken Jammu and Kashmir’s distinct constitutional and political identity.

“This is a familiar script. It is the politics of disruption masquerading as dissent. Every time the National Conference raises its voice for the dignity, rights, and aspirations of the people, certain local collaborators and political proxies spring into action to muddy the waters and fracture public unity. Their objective is not the empowerment of the people but the preservation of a political ecosystem that thrives on confusion and contradiction,” he added.
