A case has been registered against actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s elder brother Aiazuddin Siddiqui for posting an objectionable picture of Lord Shiva on Facebook. The post was later removed from Facebook.

A complaint was lodged by convenor of BJP’s youth wing Yuva Morcha, Bharat Kumar, against Aiazuddun Siddiqui in Budhana Kotwali on Sunday.

While denying the charges,  Aiazuddin Siddiqui in a statement said that he had
received an objectionable post of Lord Shiva on his Facebook account on Saturday evening.

“I was hurt hence shared it to warn the person not to post such objectionable pictures which hurt religious feelings of people,” he said adding that his family believes in respecting all religions and cultures .

He also calimed that a group of people BJP and Hindu Yuva Vahini are mounting pressure on the administration and police for his arrest.

Earlier in his statement, Bharat Kumar said that Siddiqui had posted objectionable image of Lord Shiva on his Facebook account.

Kumar has also claimed that this is not for the first time that he had posted something like this on the social media. Earlier, Aiazuddun had allegedly posted objectionable comments against Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

A case has been registered against Aiazuddin Siddiqui under Sections 153A, 295 IPV and 66 IT Act, said Jaibhagwan Inspector of Budhana Kotwali.

“The investigations are underway and will take action if required after the charges levelled against Siddiqui are ascertained,” said police.

Meanwhile, police has appealed to the people not to post anything on social media that may threaten the peace and tranquility.

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui hails from Budhana town of Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh. His family still lives in their parental house in Budhana.

Last year, he had expressed willingness to play role of Mareechh in Ramleela at the time of Dussehra in his nativetown but in view of the strong protest by Hindu organisations, the actor had to drop the idea.
