The Indian Navy’s three-day biannual Commanders’ Conference 2025 commenced here on Thursday, with Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi lauding the collective dedication, professionalism, and sustained commitment of the force in upholding operational excellence and combat readiness, exemplified during Operation Sindoor.
In his opening address, Tripathi articulated the priorities of the service in the changing geostrategic environment, emphasizing intensified readiness, flexibility, and proactive regional presence to ensure country’s maritime interests.
Reasserting the Indian Navy’s standing as a combat-capable and forward-deployed force, Admiral Tripathi praised recent operational deployments and joint operations which reinforced its expanding capabilities. He mentioned significant progress in force accretion, modernization, and procurement, which have notably improved the Navy’s operational reach and capability.
Highlighting the Navy’s position as a reliable sea power and a valued security partner in the Indian Ocean Region, the CNS spoke about major initiatives like deployment of INS Sagar and AIKEYME.
Admiral Tripathi also praised the ongoing efforts to enhance personnel well-being including recruitment, better living conditions and fitness, and initiatives along with the swift advancements in technological development.
Identifying seven areas of focus, ombat preparedness, capability building, maintenance and logistics, technology infusion, human resource development, organisational responsiveness, and inter-agency synergy, the CNS called upon the commanders to keep the momentum in these areas so the Navy can be future-ready and able to secure India’s maritime borders.
According to the Ministry of Defence, this year’s conference holds added significance in the context of Operation Sindoor and the Navy’s sustained high operational tempo, a Defence Ministry statement said.
The high-level conference will serve as a key platform for the Navy to focus on enhancing combat capabilities, interoperability and joint operations with the Indian Army, Indian Air Force and ICG. It underscores the Navy’s commitment to deterring emerging threats and showcasing maritime prowess in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) and the Indo-Pacific.
The conference will cater to items including operational paradigms, training initiatives, and resource availability for a wide range of operational tasks in the current scenario. The Commanders will also deliberate on the Navy’s future roadmap, focusing on key enablers such as improved operational logistics, digitisation and adoption of disruptive technologies including Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and Machine Learning to drive combat solutions and ensure seamless operations in a safe and secure environment.
