Leader wants parties outside andhra to participate as well; not attend all-party meet convened by GOM
Hyderabad, 4 November
TDP president Mr N Chandrababu Naidu would demand that the Centre convene an all party meeting of all recognised parties in India and not just those from Andhra Pradesh on the issue of bifurcation.
He is not going to write to the GoM. If he does write, he might just confine himself to demanding that the Centre does equal justice to both Telangana and Seemandhra.
He has decided not to attend the all party meeting which the GoM is to convene after receiving the parties’ views by tomorrow. Mr Naidu decided on this course of action after meeting with close aides today.
Mr Naidu&’s contention in the letter would be that the UPA would not stick to any decision it takes at the all party meeting.
“We want an all party meeting of all recognised parties in the country. What is the guarantee that after coming to power you will stick to your decision at the meeting of political parties from AP? Earlier all party meetings said there should be a consensus, but the division decision was taken despite parties being against it.”
The leader said this would be operative part of the letter.
Meanwhile Mr Naidu received a mouthful from Seemandhra leaders at a four hour meeting.
“You have damaged us enough. If you write to the GoM we will be stoned to death in our areas”, a leader reportedly said. Mr Naidu, however, did not disclose to them that he would be writing to the PM.
