Naidu to be chief guest at Haryana’s golden jubilee celebrations closing ceremony

The vice president Venkaiah Naidu will be the chief guest at a grand closing ceremony of the year-long golden jubilee celebrations of Haryana at Hisar on Tuesday.

Haryana Governor Prof Kaptan Singh Solanki and the chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar will join the people in enjoying the activities, which include dance performances, march by brass bands, a drill by women guards of the Border Security Force (BSF), bike stunts, a parade by traditional Haryanvi musicians, and a dance medley by college and university students.

Famous Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam, a Haryana native will present a bouquet of his choicest songs while actor Randeep Hooda, another Haryana native will be the master of ceremonies during the programme.

An official spokesperson said that since the day would coincide with National Ekta Diwas, commemorating the Birth Anniversary of the Iron Man of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, an ekta pledge would be taken by the gathering.

Among other items on the agenda are dance acts on the theme “Vande Mataram” and “Mera Haryana”, a film on the yearlong golden jubilee celebrations, armed police and police march past and a talk by media baron Subhash Chandra.

He said that the yearlong celebrations witnessed a flurry of impressive grassroots level activities, touching the lives of the common man across the length and breadth of the state, in every conceivable field, including art and culture, music, dance, literature, entertainment, agriculture, science, industry, sports, governance, etc.

CM himself reviewed the arrangements Monday evening, he added.
