Noted preacher and narrator Sadhavi Prem Baisa passed away under suspicious circumstances at her ashram-cum-residence in the Boranada area here on Wednesday evening.
Quoting the Sadhavi’s father, Additional Commissioner of Police, Jodhpur, Chhavi Sharma said that the Sadhavi, along with her father, returned to Jodhpur from Ajmer on Tuesday night. She was unwell yesterday due to an infection, so a compounder was called, and he administered an injection on Wednesday afternoon. Soon after, her condition deteriorated, and she was taken to Preksha Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.
The ACP said that Prem Baisa died between 5 pm and 6 pm on Wednesday. Her father suspects that his daughter was either given poison or that there was something wrong with the injection. The compounder has been taken into custody, the officer said.
The mystery deepened further when the so-called suicide note was posted on Instagram about 3-4 hours after Sadhavi’s death.
The police have been probing the details of all handlers of her Instagram account, including their locations, IP addresses, and devices from which the suicide-related post was uploaded. There are also other vital clues that we are investigating,” the ACP said.
Sadhavi’s House, where the incident took place, has been secured, and investigations by FSL teams are underway, she said. “We will investigate the cases, taking all aspects and possible angles into consideration. The postmortem will be conducted by a special medical board,” she added.
